Actress Triptii Dimri has been making headlines recently since she made an impactful appearance in Ranbir Kapoor’s latest release Animal.
From her intimate scene with Ranbir Kapoor to her ‘Lick my shoe’ scene in the movie, Triptii surely left fans impressed, even at a time when the film’s content has received criticism from a section of the audience for promoting toxic masculinity.
Triptii’s growing popularity can be understood from the rapid increase in her Instagram followers.
In the past four weeks, Triptii Dimri’s Instagram follower count has grown by 320 percent. She gained 2 million followers, taking her current follower count to 2.7 million on the social media platform, reported Hindustan Times.
Triptii made her Bollywood debut with the movie Poster Boys (2017).
The 29-year-old actress played her first lead role in the romantic drama Laila Majnu (2018).
She gained recognition for her performances in Anvita Dutt’s period films Bulbbul (2020) and Qala (2022), with the former earning her a Filmfare OTT Award.
Reacting to the criticisms and opinions she is facing over a scene from the movie Animal where she was asked by Ranbir Kapoor, playing the character of Rannvijay Singh aka Vijay, to lick his boots to prove her love, the actress told The Indian Express: “It reminded me of what my acting coach had told me, the golden rule: Never judge your character. The characters you are playing, the character your co-actor is playing, all are human and humans have good and bad side.”
“An actor must be prepared to play characters across the spectrum of good, bad and ugly, but if you judge a character’s motivations, and thoughts, you won’t be able to play it with honesty. So that’s what I kept in mind,” she said.
In another interview with India Today, the actress revealed how she prepared herself to act in the intimate scenes in the movie that is shattering Box Office records.
“While signing the project, Sandeep told me that there’s a scene and I want to shoot it this way, but I will make it look aesthetically amazing. I want to create a Beauty and the Beast kind of image,” she told the Indian news channel.
“And this is what I have. I leave it up to you, whether you’re comfortable or not comfortable, you let me know, we’ll work around it is what he told me,” she said.
The actress said: “So, when I saw the references, I was like ‘wow, it’s an important moment between the two characters. That made me comfortable.”
She said, “Also, on set, you need to be completely honest, you must leave yourself aside and be that person. For that, even the environment matters a lot. How people around you are making you feel, whether they’re making you feel comfortable or not, that matters a lot.”
