Indian Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat celebrated World Skydiving Day by participating in the thrilling sport himself on Saturday.

The Minister described his experience of performing the high-octane act as ‘ Truly exhilarating!’.

A video has now gone viral on social media where Shekhawat could be seen getting trained in the plane from his instructor before jumping from it.

The Minister wrote on X: “On the occasion of World Skydiving Day, had the pleasure of flagging off the new skydiving aircraft and taking a tandem skydive this morning at Skyhigh—India’s only civilian skydiving drop zone at Narnaul Airstrip, Haryana.”

“For new and adventurous Bharat, the skies too are no limit,” he said.

The first annual World Skydiving Day was celebrated on July 13, 2024.

It will repeat each year on the second Saturday in July.

The event is an initiative taken by four major skydiving associations – The US Parachute Association (USPA), the Australian Parachute Federation, British Skydiving and the Canadian Sport Parachuting Association.
