The White House’s press secretary Sarah Sanders announced on Twitter that the Capella Hotel on Sentosa would be the venue for the Trump-Kim summit on June 12.
The Singapore authorities gazetted Sentosa and its surrounding waters as a “special event area” on Tuesday, June 5, according to a report by Todayonline.
Two days ago, a section of the Tanglin-Orchard area had been gazetted as a “special event area” for the historic summit, sparking speculations that the event would be held in Shangri-La Hotel.
Two gazette notices under the Public Order Act were put up by the police and Ministry of Home Affairs. One declared the entire southern island and portions of its surrounding waters, including the primary gateway from Harbourfront to Sentosa as "special event area". Another demarcated a smaller area within Sentosa as a "special zone" which comprises the buildings of Resorts World Sentosa, Amara Sanctuary Resort and Capella Singapore.
