Females may be stereotyped for being the bad drivers but Bharulata Kamble will make you think twice. Bharulata has set a world record by driving solo 32,000 km and became the first woman to complete the 2,792 km Artic Circle.
The Indian-origin UK resident was felicitated at a programme organised by Maharashtra Information Centre in New Delhi, India.
An official statement by Bharulata, states, "I could overcome the difficulties such as hostile weather conditions, lonely roads, rules and regulations in different countries due to my willpower. My husband too encouraged and backed me in this endeavour."
Bharulata who completed 32,000km and reached New Delhi two days ago covered 32 countries while spreading awareness about ‘saving and educating the girl child’ over the span of 57 days.
Born in Gujarat's Navasri district, she started her journey from England to India on September 13 this year.
