A number of American TV networks cut out of Donald Trump’s live address on Thursday saying that the president was spreading misinformation. This was Trump’s first public appearance since his speech on election night.

Trump spoke for 17 minutes during which he made a number of false and baseless claims accusing the Democrats of using "illegal votes" to "steal the election from us."

Networks that pulled out of the president’s address included MSNBC, ABC News and NBC.

"What a sad night for the United states of America to hear their president say that, to falsely accuse people of trying to steal the election," said CNN's Jake Tapper.

While MSNBC anchor Brian Williams said, "OK, here we are again in the unusual position of not only interrupting the president of the United States but correcting the president of the United States."
