Indian American actor Mindy Kaling is one of the high-profile names tapped in to host the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. The event starts from Monday, August 19 and will continue till Thursday, August 22. Apart from Kaling, actor Kerry Washington, actor-singer Tony Goldwyn, and Nicaraguan-American strategist and commentator Ana Navarro will also host the convention, as per reports.
Goldwyn is scheduled to host Monday night, while Navarro will follow on Tuesday. Kaling will host the convention — which will see Democratic Presidential nominee and current US Vice President Kamala Harris accept her nomination formally — on Wednesday. Washington will host on the final day on Thursday.
Kaling, who is known for her hit roles in the TV show “The Office” and Disney’s “Inside Out”, is a known Harris supporter and has been featured alongside the Vice President Harris several times. She also appeared on Harris’s YouTube channel in 2019 and cooked masala dosa.
The convention will see speeches from President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, former presidents Barack Obama, and Bill Clinton.
