The international cricket stadium in Varanasi, to be built at a cost of INR 330 crore (USD 39,708,801), will accommodate nearly 30,000 people at a time, the Uttar Pradesh government said in a press statement.

The design of the international cricket stadium in Varanasi will depict the "essence of Kashi", the press statement read.
The roof covers will be crescent-shaped, floodlights shaped like a trident, patterns resembling bel leaves, and one of the structures shaped like a 'damru'.
“One place of Shiv Shakti is on the moon, while the other one is here in Kashi,” the Prime Minister remarked, as he congratulated everyone present.
Varanasi's international cricket stadium will be built on INR 121 crore land.
The spectators' gallery of the stadium will resemble the steps of the ghats of Varanasi.
Situated near the Ring Road in the Rajatalab area, it is likely to be ready by December 2025, the press statement read.
In addition, the PM said that the effort is to provide world-level sports facilities to the youth of Kashi. That is why, along with this stadium INR 400 crore are being spent on Sigra stadium where facilities are being developed for more than 50 sports.
