This year, popular Vasantham artistes Jaynesh Isuran, Udaya Soundari and Saravanan Ayyavoo will be steering Mediacorp&#;s annual Deepavali countdown show ‘Amarkala Deepavali’, to be held on November 3.
The show will also feature two hours of electrifying dance performances and lively musical medleys, along with participation of a star-studded lineup of hosts and performers.
They will be joined by Karthikeyan Somasundaram, Gunalan Morgan and Sajini Naidu who will be bringing viewers a first-hand experience of the festivities through live crosses from the heart of the celebrations, Little India.

Beyond enjoying the buzz and excitement of the on-ground action, fans can also look forward to rousing performances by Vasantham artistes Prasanna Ramesh, Pavithra Nair, Vishnu Balaji and recent Nenjukulle winner Abdul Jalil, among others.
A special rendition of this year’s Deepavali song Navarasa Deepavali, composed by Vasantham Star alumni Satthia, will also be performed by the artist himself, alongside several other Vasantham singers.
Following the countdown show, viewers can also binge-watch an array of exhilarating content over five days of non-stop celebrations on Vasantham from November 3 to 7.
These include sensational world television premieres of the latest blockbuster movies Sarpatta Parambarai, a sports action film showcasing the 1970s boxing culture and politics in North Chennai; Thalaivi, a biographical drama based on the life of Indian actress-politician J. Jayalalithaa, and Kasada Thapara, a collection of interlinked short stories.
Those looking for some lighthearted entertainment can also catch the special festive episode of cooking variety show Un Samayal Arayil or check out the heartwarming Deepavali telemovies such as Adukku Veetu Annasamy Season 2 Deepavali Special, another laughter-filled installment of the iconic Annasamy family, and Blk 414D, a story about a mysterious good Samaritan helping families prepare for Deepavali.
Amarkala Deepavali is part of Mediacorp’s #NavarasaDeepavali celebrations which kicked off on September 25 with the Little India light-up ceremony.
