VIRAL: Drunk man claiming to be ‘father of Mahakal’ while taunting a krait dies of snakebite in Uttar Pradesh

Taunting a snake proved fatal for a 22-year-old man in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place in Ahirauli village of the state’s Deoria district on Saturday (November 4, 2023).

As per a video, that has gone viral on the internet, a man can be seen holding a live snake by its tail and trying to communicate with the reptile. As you may have guessed by now, yes, the person was drunk.

As per reports, Rohit Jayswal, 22, even challenged the snake to bite him, while proclaiming himself as the ‘father of Mahakal’.

Unfortunately for the man, the snake obliged and the venomous bite killed the 22-year-old.

The snake has been identified as a krait, which is known to be highly venomous and grows up to a few feet in length.

The news of Jayswal’s death was confirmed by the Khukhundu police station in-charge Santosh Kumar Singh. The law enforcement officer said that the man died of the snakebite and his body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.

Jayswal was a resident of Navka Tola area of the village. He was the youngest of six siblings.

Reports also said that the man had provoked the snake to bite his tongue before tragedy ultimately struck him.
