The unfortunate event reportedly took place near Bogie no. 193751, where the pet owner, displaying negligence, held onto the dog’s leash while trying to catch the moving train.

This led to the dog being pulled forcefully along the platform before slipping into the gap between the platform and the train.

A disturbing video of the incident has since gone viral, showing the harrowing moments as the train gained speed. At the beginning of the clip, the man, dressed in a blue t-shirt and jeans, is seen standing near the moving train with his Golden Retreiver dog.

Within seconds, he attempts to board the train by grabbing onto a door handle, dragging his pet along. The dog struggles to keep up and is eventually pulled into the dangerous gap between the train and the platform. As the train continues moving, the man is seen looking around frantically, seemingly searching for his pet.

According to railway officials, the dog miraculously survived the ordeal. The incident took place at Jhansi railway station. The train involved in the incident is Delhi-bound CSMT-Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express, as per railway officials in Jhansi. However, there are no confirmed reports on any legal action being taken against the pet’s owner.

Legal action demanded against pet owner

Meanwhile, the viral video has sparked widespread outrage among animal lovers and activists. Many have condemned the owner’s irresponsible behaviour, calling it an act of sheer negligence.

The incident also led to demands for legal action against the pet owner under the BNS sections related to animal cruelty.

Several activists have stressed the need for stricter regulations regarding pet safety in public spaces, especially at railway stations where such accidents can have tragic consequences.
