The 23-year-old political science student captivated the judges and audience with his dynamic stage presence, acting skills, and engaging performances, narrowly defeating the other talented finalists.

Yugesh, who is passionate about acting, hosting, writing, and football, participated in V Supreme to challenge himself and carve out a unique identity as an entertainer.

Inspired by renowned actor Sivakarthikeyan, Yugesh joined the competition with the aim of growing both as a performer and an individual.

Throughout the competition, his standout moments included sharp quick-thinking, impressive acting, and his ability to connect with the audience.

Hosted by Vishnu M. Anandh, V Supreme was launched to spotlight emerging talent in Singapore’s Indian entertainment scene. The competition began with 12 hopefuls selected from hundreds of auditions in October 2024.

Over several weeks, contestants underwent a rigorous boot camp followed by live performances that tested their skills in acting, dancing, and hosting. This intense process eventually led to the final six contestants: Sheena, Yazhini, Krishmita, Alex, Ashraf, and the eventual winner, Yugesh.

At the grand finale, each finalist had to prove their versatility through a series of high-pressure challenges. These included both scripted and impromptu acting tasks, as well as demanding hosting and interview segments, with special guest appearances from renowned actors and actresses like Ashwini Nair, Bharathi Rani, Kishore Kumaran, and Sivakumar Palakrishnan.

The finalists were judged on stage presence, technical skills, creativity, and audience engagement.

The judging panel, which included singer and model Annetha Ayyavoo, actor Jabur Deen Faruk, multi-hyphenate Jaenani Netra, and media veteran JK Saravana, awarded scores based on each contestant’s performance. The judges’ scores made up 80 percent of the final ranking, while the public vote accounted for the remaining 20 percent.

Yugesh’s impressive performances secured him the highest combined score, earning him the title of V Supreme champion. “Winning V Supreme feels like a dream come true,” the 23-year-old said.

“This journey has been incredibly challenging, but I am grateful for the experience, the friendships made, and the chance to showcase what I love doing. I could not have done it without the amazing mentors, judges, and everyone who believed in me. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me next!” he added.

In second place, Sheena took home SGD 6,000, while Yazhini finished third with SGD 3,000. The remaining finalists — Krishmita, Alex, and Ashraf — each received SGD 1,500.

With his victory, Yugesh Kannan has firmly established himself as one of the rising stars in the Indian entertainment scene.
